Macklin's Project

A pilot program bringing practical support to infants, children and young people on dialysis and and their families.

Families with children on dialysis face unique challenges, when supporting their child's health at home. One of these challenges is accessing the medical grade equipment needed for children to do dialysis at home safely, confidently and comfortably.

Through Macklin's project, we work closely with Nephrology teams at children's hospitals, to provide appropriate equipment for children on dialysis. We have provided equipment like: paediatric blood pressure monitors, infant and bathroom scales and more.

Our goal is to reduce stress and financial impact for families, and support better health outcomes for babies, children and teenagers on dialysis.

Macklin was the 17-year-old son of Richard and Mon who died while playing basketball. Richard and Mon generously decided to donate Macklin's organs to save the lives of others.

We dedicate this project to Macklin and his family. So children and families who are waiting, or not eligible for transplants can access safe dialysis at home.
